The main event of day four of Homecoming was the annual Lip Sync competition. Faculty judges Karissa Baker, Ben Bollinger-Danielson, and Rane Bice watched from the audience, waving numbers, equations and infinity signs as five acts performed.
Juniors Gracie Tilney-Kaemmer and Gavin Kimmel performed “Busted” from Phineas and Ferb. A group of ten senior girls performed “Toxic” by Britney Spears. Three ninth-graders lip-synced “Mr. Sandman” from the 1950s group The Chordettes. Junior Rylan Hefner, last year’s fan-favorite performed “Vogue” by Madonna. Upper School Assistant Aja Parham performed “A Part of Your World” from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
“It was a party and I’m glad that we got to carry on the tradition of doing a senior girls’ lip-sync. I definitely think that it’s something other grades should do in the future,” senior Ellie Hoppe said, who organized and choreographed the dance.
